If we could only see people the way Jesus does! If only our hearts were moved with pity because the masses are like sheep without a shepherd, lying prostrate from exhaustion! (Mt 9:36) When Jesus "saw the vast throng, His heart was moved with pity, and He cured their sick" (Mt 14:14). Then He multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed fifteen to twenty thousand people (Mt 14:19-21).
Only Jesus has love and power enough to meet the needs of our world's five billion people. He will do the impossible to provide food, health, freedom, happiness, peace, justice, reconciliation, affirmation, and eternal life for everyone.
Our job as Christians is to deliver Jesus' invitations. They read: "All you who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come, receive grain and eat; come, without paying and without cost" (Is 55:1). Let's love people enough to go out into the highways and the byways to invite them in (Lk 14:23).
Jesus is spreading His table for all to be satisfied. The banquet costs us nothing because He has paid the price by His life and death. Let all come to the wedding feast of the Lamb (Rv 19:7).
PRAYER: | Jesus, may I love You and love people enough to invite them to You. |
PROMISE: | "For I am certain that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor powers, neither height nor depth nor any other creature, will be able to separate us from the love of God that comes to us in Christ Jesus, our Lord." –Rm 8:38-39 |
PRAISE: | Alleluia! Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth, and all creation is filled with His glory. Praise Jesus forever! |
